Welcome to PromptMiner! We take your privacy very seriously. This Privacy Policy is intended to explain how we handle your data and why we require certain permissions to provide our services.

In short: We do not collect, store, or share any of your personal data with any third parties. All your data is under your complete control.

1. What Information Do We Collect?

The core principle of PromptMiner’s design is “data localization.” The information we handle is strictly limited to what is necessary for the extension’s functionality:

  • Prompts and Settings Data: All the prompts and tags you create, as well as your settings for the extension (such as enabled AI platforms), are securely stored in your own browser’s local storage using Chrome’s storage API. This data is never sent to our servers, and we have no access to it.
  • (Future Feature) Authentication Information: To enable cross-device synchronization (e.g., via Google Drive), the extension may use the identity permission in the future. When you actively grant authorization, the extension will obtain an authentication token to access the application data folder in your own cloud drive. We only use this token for reading and writing your data and will never access your personal identity information or other files in your cloud drive.

2. How Do We Use Your Information?

We only use your information for the following purposes:

  • To Provide Core Functionality: To save and manage your prompt library locally in your browser.
  • To Enable Data Sync (Future Feature): To synchronize your prompt data across your different devices, with your authorization.
  • For Data Backup and Recovery: To allow you to back up your data as a JSON file or restore from it at any time using the “Export/Import” feature.

3. Data Storage and Security

  • Local Storage: Your core data is always stored on your computer, protected by your browser’s security mechanisms.
  • Cloud Sync (Future Feature): When you use the sync feature, your data will be stored in a private application folder within your personal cloud service (like Google Drive), accessible only by the PromptMiner extension. We, as developers, cannot view it.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer any of your data to any third parties. Your data belongs entirely to you.

5. Permissions Explained

PromptMiner requires certain browser permissions to function correctly. We have explained the purpose of each permission in detail in the store’s permission justification section. All permissions strictly adhere to the “principle of least privilege.”
